  • I have been to see the fantastic Morvern Callar and the wonderful Larkin Grimm. After some brief astro-travelling (seriously) Jane/Movern Callar has allowed me to discover scores of new British bands (and West African “world music”/Coldplay-stole-it) so stay tuned for a lot of new British music scheduled to come your way before the new year reaches us….
  • In hoorary news: Nothing But Green Lights has been nominated for “Best Music Blog” in the Webblogwards.org. Some kind soul nominated this bastion of UK blogging. Voting starts later this week. So head on over if you want to show your support for the UK side of things.
  • Earlier this summer I got a request from British born, Canadian strung musican “Victor Scott” to suggest I submit a video of me dancing to one of his songs (one of my favourite songs of last year Gotta Go). The video has now been produced, and it features multiple people dancing their sweet asses off. I’m “V”. (Youtube Link / Hi Res 28mb link)
  • NBGL favourites Sky Larkin have a debut single out on “Dance to the Radio” - home of and ran by Forward Russia. It’s going to be a vinyl and digital release. Search “Sky Larkin” at http://www.recordstore.co.uk/ if you want it. I called their track “Somersault (notes)” (mp3) my favourite track of the year back in June, find out what my favourites tracks, albums and things of 2006 are later this week.

      Waiting desperately for your podcast to come out. Is there anybody out there still doing podcasts? No NYUB, No SASR, No TYM. Relief us!
